A good hair oil and serum is the quickest way to add shine and tame flyaways. Gisou has three: the iconic Honey Infused Hair Oil, the featherlight Collagen Drops for fine hair, and the Hair Repair Serum for dry, split ends. Each one is made with Mirsalehi honey and offers heat protection up to 230°C, which matters if you blow-dry or straighten daily.

Hair oil or hair serum: which one do you need?

Think of an oil as a finisher and a serum as a treatment. The Honey Infused Hair Oil adds gloss and smooths frizz on damp or dry hair, and suits every hair type. The Honey Gloss Collagen Drops are made for fine to medium hair that goes flat under heavier oils.

The Hair Repair Serum is a creamy leave-in for dry, damaged lengths and split ends. Apply it to the lengths only, never the scalp.

Hair oil for natural, curly and coily hair

Curls and coils tend to feel dry at the ends, because the natural oil from your scalp takes longer to travel down each twist. A hair oil helps put that moisture back where it is needed. Apply the Honey Infused Hair Oil to damp hair after your leave-in and scrunch it in rather than raking it through, so it smooths frizz and adds shine without breaking up your curls. Thick or tightly coiled hair can take three drops or more; loose waves usually need just one or two.

How much to use

  • Fine hair: 1 to 2 drops
  • Medium hair: 2 to 3 drops
  • Thick or curly hair: 3 drops or more

Warm the drops in your palms and apply from mid-lengths to ends. Start small; you can always add more. Using too much near the roots is the most common reason hair looks greasy.

Can I use hair oil every day?

Yes. The Honey Infused Hair Oil is made for everyday use. Smooth one or two drops through the ends of fine hair, or a few more through thick or curly hair, and keep it away from the roots.

Will hair oil make my hair greasy?

Not if you use the right amount. Start with 1 to 2 drops on the ends and build up. Fine hair may prefer the lighter Collagen Drops.

Do these oils protect hair from heat?

Yes. In our lab testing, the Honey Infused Hair Oil, Collagen Drops and Hair Repair Serum each protect hair from styling heat up to 230°C (450°F). Apply them to damp hair before blow-drying or straightening.

Can I use an oil and a serum together?

Yes. Apply the Hair Repair Serum to the ends first, then a drop or two of oil to seal in shine.
